Kristel Halter is a writer and editor based in Bloomington, Indiana. She studied religion at Reed College, going on to receive her master's degrees from Harvard Divinity School and Columbia University's School of Journalism. She is a California native who has lived in New York, Boston, Washington, DC, Cairo and Beirut working for newspapers, human rights groups and financial newsletters. She currently works as a freelance book editor for Author Solutions, a Penguin Group company, and is also writing her first novel, a historical fiction set in fourth-century Egypt.
